Alabama thinks this image is offensive

July 25, 2009 - This image, a bicycle ad from 1895, is apparently either 'offensive' or 'immodest' according to the Alаbаmа Alcоhоlіc Bеvеrаgе Cоntrоl Board.

Hаhn Fаmіly Wines uses this image to label their Cyclеs Glаdіаtоr merlot bottles. But the Board has sent a letter to stores and restaurants in Alabama ordering them to stop selling the wine because of it.

Offensive? This advertisement has been cherised as art for more than 100 years. Immodest? How many countless nudes have been painted by revered masters throughout the centuries? This is a beautiful, whimsical piece of art featuring a beautiful, whimsical woman, and banning it from the public view is what's offensive.
