Italy's nude art models want better pay
February 2, 2008 - Italy's 300 life models - who pose nude for art classes - are fed up with their low pay and want the government to step in.
Only about 50 of them have full time contracts, and as a group, the 300 recently went on strike demanding full time pay for the hard work that not everyone can do.
"It's not easy because you are naked, so you have to be comfortable with your body and have a nice relation with everybody but be neither too open nor too close." one model said. "It's a tough job! It doesn't seem to be, but try it. Put yourself in front of the mirror and then stay for a long time in a pose. It's not easy."
